Meta Coming Out Bot

A case-study animation highlighting Meta and Standard Chartered’s collaborative digital support tool for LGBTQ+ families

Project Overview

This project is a 2-minute motion-graphics case study commissioned by Meta to highlight the impact of the Coming Out Bot, developed in partnership with Standard Chartered and the Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association. The tool was designed to give Taiwan’s LGBTQ+ community—and their families—a safe, interactive way to start difficult yet meaningful conversations at home.

As Lead Producer, I managed a fully international production pipeline, coordinating creative teams, illustrators and motion graphics animators across Brazil, China, and Southeast Asia. I guided the entire storytelling process, from script development and visual language to animatics, storyboards, and styleframes. I also worked closely with the client to refine the narrative and secured a voiceover artist whose tone complemented the emotional nuance of the film. This project required both cultural sensitivity and tight creative alignment across continents, ensuring the final piece remained respectful, clear, and impactful.

Scope of Work

Creative & Narrative Development

- Led discussions with Meta to sharpen key messages, emotional beats, and the overall narrative arc.

Storyboarding, Styleframes & Animatics

- Worked with team to prepare detailed animatics and visual pre-production assets to unify the creative direction across all teams.

Voiceover Casting & Direction

- Identified a suitable voiceover artist, provided direction, and shaped the narration to complement the emotional arc of the film.
